Installation | Approve CheckOP in Other Device Managers

Introduction

Organizations that manage Android Enterprise devices using platforms such as Workspace ONE, Ivanti Neurons for MDM, or SOTI MobiControl can control which apps are available to users.

To install CheckOP on these devices, the administrator must add it via Managed Google Play and then assign it to the appropriate users or devices.

Important: This procedure must be performed by the organization's IT administrator. The device user cannot resolve this issue through Google Play.

The exact steps depend on the platform used by the organization. Select the appropriate manager:

  • Workspace ONE
  • Ivanti Neurons for MDM
  • SOTI MobiControl

Workspace ONE

In Workspace ONE UEM, public Android Enterprise apps are managed through Managed Google Play. The app must be added to the Workspace ONE app catalog and then assigned to the appropriate device groups

Add CheckOP from Managed Google Play

  1. Log in to the Workspace ONE UEM console.
  2. Go to the Apps section.
  3. Select the option to add an app.
  4. Select Android as the platform.
  5. Select the option to search for the app on Google Play / Managed Google Play.
  6. Search for CheckOP.
  7. Select the app.
  8. Review the information and requested permissions.
  9. Add or approve the app based on the options available in your console.

Once added, CheckOP will be available in the Workspace ONE app catalog.

Assign CheckOP

After adding the app:

  1. Go to the CheckOP settings.
  2. Open the Assignments section.
  3. Select Add Assignment.
  4. Select the Smart Group that contains the devices that should use CheckOP.
  5. Configure the distribution options.
  6. Save the assignment.

Workspace ONE uses Smart Groups to determine which devices applications are deployed to.

Ivanti Neurons for MDM

In Ivanti Neurons for MDM, Google Play apps for Android Enterprise are managed through the App Catalog.

An app must be approved before it can be added to the catalog and subsequently made available to the appropriate users or devices. Current Ivanti documentation confirms that Google Play apps must be approved before they can be included in the App Catalog.

Add and Approve CheckOP

  1. Log in to the Ivanti Neurons for MDM console.
  2. Go to Apps → App Catalog.
  3. Select Add.
  4. Select Google Play.
  5. Search for CheckOP.
  6. Select the app.
  7. Select Approve.
  8. Review the requested permissions.
  9. Confirm approval.

CheckOP will be available in the Ivanti app catalog.

Once CheckOP is available in the App Catalog:

  1. Select CheckOP.
  2. Configure the app deployment.
  3. Select the users, groups, or devices that should receive it.

SOTI MobiControl

In SOTI MobiControl, Android Enterprise apps can be deployed via Managed Google Play using an App Policy.

Before performing this procedure, the organization must have the Android Enterprise binding configured, which is required to use Managed Google Play. SOTI refers to this binding as the Enterprise Binding.

Create an app policy

  1. Log in to the SOTI MobiControl web console.
  2. Go to Policies → App Policies.
  3. Select New App Policy.
  4. Select the appropriate Android device family.
  5. Enter a name for the policy.
  6. Go to the Apps tab.
  7. Select Add.

SOTI documents this workflow for creating a policy to distribute apps on Android Enterprise devices.

Add CheckOP from Managed Google Play

  1. Select Managed Google Play as the source.
  2. Select the appropriate Enterprise Binding.
  3. Open Managed Google Play.
  4. Search for CheckOP.
  5. Select the app.
  6. Select " Select " to add it to the App Policy.

SOTI notes that Managed Google Play is one of the available sources for distributing apps via App Policies in Android Enterprise.

Assign the policy

Once CheckOP has been added to the App Policy:

  1. Complete the policy configuration.
  2. Save the App Policy.
  3. Assign the policy to the relevant devices.
  4. Verify that the devices receive the policy.

The app will be deployed according to the policy settings and the devices to which it has been assigned. SOTI also notes that apps can be configured as mandatory within an App Policy.
