Installation | Approve and Assign CheckOP from Microsoft Intune

Introduction

If your organization manages Android Enterprise devices using Microsoft Intune, you must enable CheckOP in Managed Google Play before you can deploy it to the devices.

Important: The setup order is critical:

1. Approve CheckOP in Managed Google Play → 2. Sync with Intune → 3. Assign CheckOP to users or devices.

If CheckOP has not been previously approved in Managed Google Play, it will not be able to sync properly with Intune.

This procedure must be performed by the organization's IT administrator.

1. Approve CheckOP on Managed Google Play

The first step is to approve CheckOP from the Managed Google Play console associated with your organization.

To find the app, use the CheckOP package name provided by the CheckOP team.

Process

  1. Sign in to your organization’s Google Play Managed Console.
  2. Look for the option to manage or approve apps.
  3. Search for CheckOP using its package name.
  4. Select the app.
  5. Approve or enable CheckOP so it can be used within your organization.

Once approved, CheckOP will be available for synchronization with Microsoft Intune.

Important: Do not attempt to assign CheckOP from Intune before completing this step. Approval in Managed Google Play must be completed first.

2. Synchronize CheckOP with Microsoft Intune

Process

  1. Go to the Microsoft Intune Admin Center.
  2. Go to Apps → All apps → Create.
  3. Under Select app type, select Managed app from Google Play.
  4. Select Select.

The managed Google Play Store will open within Intune. Microsoft notes that the Intune account must be connected to Android Enterprise to browse these apps.

  1. Find CheckOP.
  2. Select the app.
  3. Select Select.
  4. Select Sync.
  5. Select Refresh to update the app list.

After synchronization, CheckOP will appear in the Intune app list. Microsoft recommends this workflow for adding public apps from Managed Google Play to Intune.

Official information: See the Microsoft documentation on how to add and assign Managed Google Play apps in Microsoft Intune: Official Microsoft Intune documentation

3. Assign CheckOP to users or devices

Once CheckOP appears in Intune, you must assign it to the users or devices that need to use it.

Process

  1. Go to Apps → All apps.
  2. Search for and select CheckOP.
  3. Go to Properties.
  4. Look for the Assignments section.
  5. Select Edit.
  6. Add the appropriate user or device group.
  7. Select the appropriate assignment type.
  8. Save your changes.

The assignment is required for CheckOP to appear as available on Managed Google Play for end users. Microsoft specifies that only assigned apps appear on Managed Google Play for end users.

Depending on the device type and Android Enterprise settings, the app may be made available for installation or installed automatically.

4. Verify that CheckOP is available

After completing the three steps, verify the result on the user's device.

On an Android device

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Access your organization's managed apps environment.
  3. Search for CheckOP.
  4. Verify that the app appears as available.
  5. Select Install.

If CheckOP appears as available, the setup was successful.

If the following message continues to appear:

If it has already been enabled but you still can't install it

If the administrator confirms that CheckOP has already been enabled but it still does not appear as available, you may need to wait for the change to propagate to the device. Google notes that some availability changes may take several hours.

If the problem persists after that time, the administrator should review the availability settings, assignment, and policies applied to the user or device. In some environments, an app may be available to the user but not appear in the managed catalog if it has not been added to the appropriate layout or collection.
